I decided to give this place another chance since it's changed ownership, and I think this was officially my last visit. I tried to order online online several times and nothing would go in my cart, so I ended up having to call in instead. But I will say the cashier was lovely and probably the only good part of the entire experience. I ordered what was easily the worst Egg Foo Young I've ever had in my life. The texture was completely off and it seems like they've tried to make it so cheap that it's essentially just eggs and shrimp. To their credit, there are a lot of shrimp and they're huge. But it was sitting in a huge bed of grease and somehow the eggs appear to be steamed (? see photo). The inside also felt undercooked. The gravy was basically inedible and kind of tasted like ketchup and weirdly sweet. The fortune cookie was extremely stale. The fried rice (plain, no vegetables/meat which is fine) was fine and probably the only decent part of the meal. Every time I've gone here since it changed ownership the food has been horrible and ends up getting thrown out. I keep hoping they'll find their footing because this used to be one of my favorite places to go, but I think it'

So I am kind of gutted over the reopening of Golden Sun now that they are under new ownership. I ordered all my mains and the dishes are completely different now. Egg Rolls are now frozen. Crab Rangoon is the same type choo choos gets from Sysco. The veggies in the fried rice are obviously previously frozen. The orange chicken came served over steamed broccoli and had no onion chilies or orange peel. I’ve been a loyal die hard supporter of Golden Sun for 20 years now and last night I dropped $70 on take out that tasted like it came from Panda Express. I am going to wait a month and order again to see if the changes are distribution related maybe with restock after they closed for the remodel?? but I am seriously terrified that I may never be able to enjoy that orange chicken dish again. There is just no comparable substitute for what the dishes were with prior owners

The atmosphere is much better than before new management but the food was not that great. I used to eat here all the time. My daughter’s food was wrong, despite me repeating what I wanted at least 3 times. I had to drive back to the establishment to get a replacement. And then when I opened my food, it was really watery and salty. The woman at the front was very apologetic , but I’m disappointed that I spent almost $50 for 2 meals that we didn’t enjoy and will likely not order from here again.

I ordered a pick up order, unaware that the business was under new ownersip and the dining room is now open. The staff was awesome and the dining room was redone and very nice. The food was very good and seasoned very similar to the meals that Jakie Xie served when he owned the resturant. I am pleased to have another great resturant to dine in. Go see the new owner if you like excellant Chinese food!

New owners, fresh renovations, and a brand-new atmosphere. The food is fresh and delicious—the Sweet and Sour Chicken, in particular, is excellent. The staff are warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back again very soon!
